Although grasses do not bear brightly coloured pink
or red petals, many possess beautiful flowers with great form and structure.
Appreciated for flower clusters, plumes and clouds of panicles, grass
flowers are best appreciated where the sun can catch them and even better still
against a darker background. Grass flower heads range from the feathery
inflorescences of Miscanthus to the tiny pearl drop-like heads of Melica nutans.
